Also known as Eastern Crested Morwong and Eastern Magpie Morwong. Found singly, pairs or in small groups in clear water coastal and estuarine reefs over sand patches rich in invertebrate growth. They feed on invertebrates. Length - 35cm Depth - 1-30m Widespread South West Pacific Morwongs are found in cool tropical to temperate waters. They feed by taking mouthfuls of sand and filter small invertebrates and worms through their gill raker's. Juveniles hide in crevices and under rocks.
