Chalice Echinopora Coral is an exquisite chalice coral demonstrating vivid coloration and striking architectural form. Its wavy, plating habit is similar to Montipora capricornis and is sure to make an amazing focal point in any coral reef display. Keep in mind during placement that Chalice Echinopora Coral is fragile and care needs to be taken to protect it from damage. Care of the Chalice Echinopora Coral is fairly straightforward as long as you maintain pristine water conditions. Similar to other Chalice Corals, Chalice Echinopora Coral prefers horizontal placement in areas of moderate light and medium water movement. Chalice Echinopora Coral can readily adapt to different amounts of lighting and coral coloration varies significantly from pinkish tan, under sunlight, to lavender blue under higher Kelvin lighting. Chalice Echinopora Coral produces sweeper tentacles at night that can harm more docile corals and invertebrates. Be sure to provide sufficient space between the Chalice Echinopora Coral and other corals because of its semi-aggressive temperament. Chalice Echinopora Coral feeds mostly at night.
